Stories........ I love people's stories. When I meet someone, I am most interested in their story, the story of their family, their culture and the times through which they have lived . I work hard to try to see the person as someone who embodies a lifetime of adventures, experiences, hopes and losses. It is in this context I hope to offer ideas and guidance in helping individuals and families make the next move or come to terms with where they are now.
Why the term "Elder" in the business name? In many cultures and in many settings an Elder is someone to be honored and someone to be listened to.
Why use the word "Connections"? I believe that the connections in our lives give us value. Family, community, therapy- all of these are connections to be honored and maintained.
Trained as a therapist, I have long been attuned to aging and family issues. I have spent my career working in the mental health field, performing assessments and crisis management in a number of different healthcare settings. My long term focus has been on aging issues and assisting individuals and families making significant life transitions.
Seattle Elder Connections is about helping to make connections and transitions at that time of life when some extra support and new options are needed.
I offer a variety of services from in home counseling and assessments, to phone consultations or Zoom meetings, advocacy and Care Management Services.
